i’m a game developer, filmmaker, and curator specializing in video games, new media, and technology. currently, i’m the lead developer / creative director / co-founder of afterschool studio, a game studio focused on making art-forward, systems-driven games. previously i co-founded scatter and worked to democratize volumetric video capture with depthkit.

my main project right now is the tactical strategy game cantata

but i also make tools for game development like

depot (data editor)
squiggle (runtime scripting language for dialog)
dinghy (c# game engine)

i also like to write about game development and share what i learn, and i think the process is an important part of being an indie developer generally.
